LIKE A CANDLE
The feeling of running late and the loss, while the body is sound asleep.
The bell’s ringing. An unexpected visitor arrives without a date.
“I didn’t make it to wake up earlier”
By remembering a dream, breathlessness arises..
I let it land here, between the lines of a half white sheet of paper.
There she is, hiding her face, a clumsy feeling and a little disoriented.
As something that is running away, frightened of that open door that invites her to step inside.
I feel her heart beating.
I feel her breathe shivering.
I feel her breathlessness going up and down.
Images to help letting go of tension: like mugs overflowing with foam; like padded bags filled with cotton wool; like pointed shoes and high heels to raise vanity.
An invitation, like a pause to make a stop.
“Let’s go to the seaside and land on the sand the things are not to be done.”
Then she hears her name, like the click of a button, the light is on..
An embrace, joining love and hope, like a candle lighting another candle in the same home.
